“Soiled Volume 1: Pure of Heart” is a photo series inspired by concepts of “purity” and the ways it can be disrupted. The grotesque subject matter of the project playfully pokes at the idea of a woman’s blood creating a cast of shame.

What happens when the perfect heart bursts? It pours out and soaks the skin that once held it.
